Sometimes the place you stay becomes the reason you remember a trip.
This was one of those places.
During my time in Greece, I found myself at a tiny beach house on the island of Milos where you can open your front door, walk a few steps across the sand, and be in the Aegean Sea.
No massive resort. No crowded hotel lobby.
Just a small house, a quiet beach, and the sound of the ocean outside your bedroom.
And yes — this is the Airbnb from my video.

Where Exactly Is It?
Thavma Beach House sits directly on Mytakas Beach, on the northern side of Milos.
“Beachfront” actually means beachfront here.
No major road. No giant resort separating you from the sea.
You walk out of the property and you're essentially on the beach.
It's roughly 5–10 minutes from the port, the airport, and the Sarakiniko area, depending on where exactly you're headed.
You aren't really booking this place for the interior. You're booking it for what's outside.
There isn't much immediately surrounding the house.
For me, that's actually part of what makes it special.
You don't book this property because you want twenty restaurants outside your door.
You book it because you want somewhere quiet.
The practical side of that: there's no grocery store or restaurant right outside. Plan ahead — grab food, drinks, breakfast, whatever you'll want, before you settle in.

The house, seen from the water. That's the whole beach.
Inside the Beach House
The layout is simple.
About 31 square meters. A king bed. A small living area. A kitchenette. One bathroom. A/C. Wi-Fi.
But that's not really the point.
You aren't booking this property because it has a huge interior.
You're booking it because of what happens when you open the door.

Simple, small, and exactly what it needs to be.
Direct beach access. You can hear the waves from inside. You can sit outside without needing to “go to the beach” — you're already there.
It feels more private than any resort I've stayed at, and it's not particularly close.

Views from the room at 6am
The Best Part? Sunrise.
If you stay here, wake up early at least once.
Seriously.
Make an espresso. Open the doors. Walk outside.
And don't immediately go anywhere.
The property becomes a completely different kind of peaceful in the morning. Softer light, still water, nobody around.
If you shoot photo or video, this is the light you're waiting for — the Cycladic white against the blue water, right before the day gets bright and loud.
Getting to Milos
I got here from Santorini, by ferry.
During peak summer, the boarding area was shoulder-to-shoulder, hot, and a little chaotic.
My biggest practical tip: bring water.
The journey was chaotic.
The property was the complete opposite.

The chaos before the calm.
You can open your front door, walk a few steps across the sand, and be in the Aegean.

Twenty seconds from the front door.

A QUICK GUT CHECK
Who is this Airbnb actually for?
PERFECT FOR
Couples
Romantic getaways
Honeymoons
Anniversaries
People who prioritize privacy
PROBABLY NOT FOR
Groups of friends
Families
People prioritizing nightlife
Wanting restaurants and stores outside the door
A large resort with lots of facilities
Is Thavma Beach House Worth It?
Yes. Absolutely.
There are bigger properties. There are more luxurious hotels. There are places closer to restaurants and nightlife.
That's not why you book this place.
You're paying for the location and the experience.
You wake up to the sound of waves. You walk outside and you're immediately on the beach. You have your morning coffee facing the Aegean.
For the right couple, that's what makes it special.

One more look before I left.
Would I Stay Here Again?
100%.
But next time, I'd come here with one goal: slow down.
Stock the fridge.
Put the phone away.
Wake up for sunrise.
Swim.
Explore Milos during the day.
Then come back to your own little house on the beach.
It's the kind of place that makes you want to build your trip around where you're staying, rather than treating it as somewhere you just come back to sleep.
Sometimes it's not “just an Airbnb.”
